Serial Port unlocking on Paradox alarm control panel

Guide to Unlocking the "+" Ending PARADOX Control Panels (SP5500+, SP6000+, SP7000+, and MG5050+) and EVO192*, EVOHD* (*Fw. 7.50+ and above) Serial Port.

Shortly after the serial port was locked, Trikdis developers released an update allowing Trikdis communicators, E16, G16, and GET to continue working directly with these alarm systems.

Requesting the Unlock Code!

  1. Open the BlueEye app (formerly Insite Gold) on your phone and tap the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.
  2. Enter the Installer section and log in (an approved registration is required).
  3. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and choose the Unlock Panel option.
  4. Enter the serial number (S/N) of the control panel you wish to unlock. You can unlock up to 25 panels at once.
  5. Enter your billing information, then fill in your credit card details and make the payment.
  6. If everything is done correctly, you’ll receive the invoice and unlock code in your email inbox within a few minutes. You can find the unlock codes anytime in the purchase history section.

Unlocking the Control Panel

The Paradox programming software, BabyWare, unfortunately, won’t assist you in this process, as the relevant sections are not available.

The unlock code is a string of letters and numbers. Supported keypads for entering the alphanumeric codes are: K32LCD, K32LCD+, K641, K641+, K641R, K656, TM50, and TM70.

  1. Connect the keypad to the control panel.
  2. Enter the installer menu and proceed with the following steps:
    • For SP5500+, SP6000+, SP7000+, and MG5050+, go to the 300 section
    • For EVO192*, EVOHD* (*Fw. 7.50+), go to the 3000 section
  3. For SP/MG systems, if the panel is locked, the display will show SERIAL LOCKED. Enter the unlock code you received from Paradox instead. If the code is correct, you will hear a confirmation sound, or a rejection tone if the code is incorrect. Exit the menu and re-enter to check. You’ll know it worked if you see the message "SERIAL UNLOCKED".
  4. For EVO systems, there is no display message regardless of the keypad type. You will only hear the confirmation sound, and it will be helpful to see if the device connected to the serial port begins to communicate.
  5. In both cases, it's recommended to restart the control panel first after the process.

You're done. If the keypad used is not part of the system, it needs to be deleted. It is recommended to do this before starting the installation/programming.
