IPcom v5 Windows is Trikdis's software IP receiver for Windows-based monitoring stations. It receives the events of all Trikdis communicators and control panels, processes them and forwards them to your CMS software – running on your own Windows server or workstation.

It is the option for smaller and Windows-centric stations: delivered as an installation package, easy to migrate to from existing Windows stations, and with the GM14 SMS receiver or an SMPP connection it also receives SMS-based reports.

IPcom v5 is a platform rewritten from the ground up: browser-managed, stable and supported long term. The Windows edition is free of charge.

Key features

  • Up to 500 supervised objects (can be increased on request)
  • Input from communicators: TCP / UDP / COM (RS232); SMS receiving via the GM14 modem or SMPP
  • Output to CMS software: Ademco 685, Surgard MLR2 / MLR2000, Monas3, SIA DC-09
  • Integration: TCP client / server, RS232, JSON, Webhook, SQL database; Split / Multi-Port reporting
  • Web-based management (HTTP / HTTPS): live status dashboard, system log, user-level change audit trail
  • Object supervision: connection loss and restore reported automatically (IP and SMS)
  • Remote device configuration and control via TrikdisConfig, radio message filtering
  • Multi-level user list with granular rights and login-by-IP restriction
  • Configuration import / export, remote software update

System requirements

  • Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise
  • 2-core CPU, 8 GB RAM
  • 128 GB HDD / SSD (SSD preferred)

Which edition is right for you?

The Windows edition does not relay to the Protegus 2 app and is sized for 500 objects. For larger object counts or Protegus 2 relay, choose the Linux edition or the ready-to-use RL25 receiver.

Frequently asked questions

Protegus 2 is the 2nd generation of Trikdis's cloud app: control your alarm system from your phone and get instant notifications. We recommend it for every current internet-connected Trikdis device. The user app is free; the paid, usage- (customer-) based tier is for monitoring stations, installers and companies.

Yes, using the TrikdisConfig programming software (via USB or remotely). The latest firmware is recommended for the best compatibility and security.

Yes: Protegus 2 can be tried on a live demo system, without installation or purchase — from a browser and from the mobile app too. This lets you see in advance what arming, notifications, and system status look like on a working alarm system.

There is no standalone Trikdis communicator that communicates exclusively over Wi-Fi, but the SIM-card communicators can be extended with the W485 Wi-Fi expansion module. There is also a purely Wi-Fi version, as well as a Wi-Fi + SIM 4G version, of the FLEXi SP3 alarm panel.

Currently the FLEXi SP3, the CG17, and the GV17 support SMS forwarding; this feature is not yet available on the other devices.

Protegus 2 typically retains the event list for up to two months; with a large volume of events, this period may shorten to as little as one month.

The AUX power output of the Paradox SP4000 alarm panel has limited load capacity. In certain cases — whether using a dedicated or a universal TRIKDIS communicator — the communicator's current draw can place too much load on the AUX output. As a result, the communicator may become unstable, restart, or fail to operate correctly.

Experience shows that the problem is usually solved by powering the TRIKDIS communicator directly from the alarm panel's battery terminals (+/-) instead of from the AUX output. This provides a stable power supply and eliminates the restart or operational issues.

Note: Before changing the wiring, always check that the system complies with the manufacturer's specifications and that the total load on the power supply does not exceed the permitted value.
